Peter McLoone has been General Secretary of IMPACT trade union, President of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and Chair of the Public Services Committee of ICTU for 17 years.
He has had extensive experience of negotiations with government and employers on pay, modernisation and change. He has been a member of the National Implementation Body (NIB) where he helped to resolve several major national disputes. Recently he was a member of the Expert Panel established to resolve the dispute in the Irish Aviation Superannuation Scheme.
Peter is a member of several boards including the Labour Relations Commission, the Institute of International and European Affairs, the National College of Ireland, the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and the Irish Times Trust. He is a member of the Law Society Complaints and Clients Relations Committee and he is Adjudicator and Chairman of the Transdev In-House Tribunal.
Rachel holds a BCL and LLM from UCC. She was called to the Bar in 1997.
She is a practising Barrister with a general practice, specialising in Employment Law, Labour Law and Industrial Relations. She is also an enthusiastic proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Rachel tutored Criminal Law at UCC, lectured in Business Law and Human Resource Management at Griffith College, Dublin, and tutored at the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland. She began her career with IBEC where she spent six years as a Senior Industrial Relations Executive.
Rachel represents employers and employees before the LRC, the Labour Court, the EAT, The Equality Tribunal, the Circuit Court and the High Court. She is a former Vice-Chair of the Employment Appeals Tribunal.
Sheamus has had a distinguished career in a number of government departments and has been a member of the EU Social Fund Committee.
He was a Regional Manager and Senior Industrial Relations Officer with the Labour Court and the Labour Relations Commission for almost 30 years. He was Chairman of a number of Joint Industrial Councils and Joint Labour Committees across a range of sectors in the public and private sectors.
More recently Sheamus provides services in mediation, arbitration and investigations. He also chairs disciplinary and grievance tribunals.
John has over 30 years’ experience in HR with Bank of Ireland where he was Director of HR for Retail Banking in Ireland until 2003. In 2003 he established his own HR consultancy specializing in Team Development, Employee Relations, Assessment and Selection and Workplace Investigations. He has a special interest in the areas of Selection and the development of HR Strategy.
John is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has lectured on HR topics at National and International Programmes and Conferences. He studied Commerce and Psychology at postgraduate level in UCD.
He has concluded numerous investigation and mediation assignments for clients from the public and private sectors.
John has been involved in workplace dispute resolution since 1986 with the conciliation services of the Labour Court and the Labour Relations Commission. He was responsible for the LRC services in the Mid-West and gained broad experience of ADR, later developing the Workplace Mediation Service, launched by the LRC in 2005.
He is an accredited Practitioner and former Board member of the Mediators Institute of Ireland. He holds a post graduate qualification in mediation studies from UCD and is currently an associate lecturer attached to the Edward M Kennedy Institute for Conflict Intervention at NUI Maynooth.
He has also worked with the ILO (International labour Office) in providing mediation training internationally.
Tom is a senior executive with over 30 years HR leadership and Employee Relations experience in the Private and Public sectors in Ireland and abroad. He has a track record of significant achievement operating at senior management level in indigenous Irish and multinational organisations. Tom brings a strong commercial awareness to his work and has been involved in a number of wide ranging organisational change management initiatives.
He is an experienced negotiator and influencer in complex environments. He has engaged extensively with trade unions and the industrial relations institutions in the delivery of change initiatives at both organisation and individual levels.
Tom holds a Masters Degree in Economics & Business from Trinity College Dublin and has completed a diploma in Mediation studies at University College Dublin. He has worked extensively in the Agribusiness sector in the Middle East and in Financial Service in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
